I started playing hockey when I was 5 with Kanata fundamentals. On my first day out I could hardly stand up but something about it got me hooked. After two seasons in House league, I tried out for my first competitive team at Atom (U11). Both the pressure and success of competitive tryouts and competition have fed a desire to push my limits every year. As a major at U15, I made the Ottawa Lady Sens, where I am finishing my hockey career at U18AA.
Hockey has given me many special memories over the years, from scoring the tournament-winning goal in a shootout, making provincials for the first time last year, to winning two gold medals so far in a season where I have tallied the most points ever.
Two lessons I took from hockey are the importance of being a dependable teammate, and the commitment to improving myself both as a player and a person.
I will really miss my teammates and the friends I have made over the years.
I wish you all good luck in the future and I hope we will meet again.
