Competitive Program

U9, U11BB, B and C Competitive Evaluations (Fall)

  • Players wishing to participate in the competitive program in the fall, must register for the season and a competitive evaluation package.
  • U9 and U11 Competitive Evaluations will follow the Hockey Canada Pathways for conditioning and tryouts.
  • If there is sufficient interest, the KGHA may consider having two competitive teams at the U9 level.

Players who were previously registered with other hockey associations and wish to try out for the U9 and U11 competitive teams must obtain a release from their previous association before the first evaluation session. "Permission to Tryout" forms will not be accepted for U9 and U11 tryouts.

No player will be allowed on the ice unless all electronic documentation is complete and fees are paid.

IMPORTANT: Players who had registered for the U11AA spring tryouts are required to register for the 25/26 competitive season.

For inquiries relating to the Competitive Program, please contact: VP of Competitive.

House Program

Number of Teams

The Kanata Girls Hockey Association aims to form between three (3) and five (5) house league teams across the U9 to U18 age groups, contingent on achieving the necessary registration numbers. Registrations and waitlists will be closely monitored to facilitate effective season planning.

Please note, priority for the House Program will be given to returning KGHA players.

Hockey Socks

Hockey socks will be available for pre-order for players in the house league program. If you wish to order socks, please select one of the two packages available and be sure to answer the associated question related to colour and size of socks.

Friend Request

We recognize the value of players participating alongside friends and will make every effort to accommodate a single, mutual friend request per player.  To ensure fairness and maintain balanced teams within our house league, we will only consider requests that identify a single friend. Requests that include multiple names will not be considered.

Please be advised that while we will do our best to honor eligible requests, team balance remains our highest priority. As such, there may be occasions where it is not possible to fulfill a friend request.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

If you need to change your friend request, please email the Registrar to update your registration.

Goalie Discount

To encourage players to try the goalie position, the KGHA offers the following rebates on House Registration fees:

  1. Full-time house league goalies, assigned the goalie position on an OWHA approved roster, will be eligible for a 75% (full-time) discount on registration fees, processed at the end of the season.
  2. Part-time goalies who play a minimum of 9 games (league, tournament and exhibition) as a goalie will be eligible for a 50% (part-time) discount on registration fees, process at the end of the season.

If your player is interested, please select "Goalie" at registration. Rebates will be applied at the end of the season with the approval of the VP House League, and submitted to the Registrar for processing.
