Police record checks (Vulnerable Sector Screenings)

ALL team staff (coaches, trainers, den moms, and managers) must apply for a PRC before October 31^st in order to remain on the staff of their respective teams.

PRC/VSS is required for everyone who comes into contact with the girls (all team staff)

KGHA does not receive the results directly.  Please see your individual police service information for how they will be provided. Ottawa Police Service will complete these online.  

Respect in Sport

New for 2026-27 season:

Please be advised that the OWHA is no longer accepting the Respect in Sport Activity Leader (RISAL) certification for new staff members. If someone previously had RISAL, that certification is still valid as long as it is linked to their Hockey Canada account. If they don't have RISAL on file or it is not linked, they must complete the new Shift Forward program.

On-ice/bench staff Shift Forward programming can be found here. Note that dressing room monitors will require this course as well to be eligible in the dressing room.

Coach, trainer certifications

All certifications (Coach, Trainer, Respect in Sport, Police Record Checks) must be submitted to your RAMP profile.

Concussion protocol

Coaches and Trainers are also required to take Concussion Awareness Training:  Concussion awareness once complete, the certificate must be uploaded on the QRS form.
